The Show and Tell Conversation Series
The “Show and Tell” exhibit and intimate conversation series honors the Bay Area’s prestigious AIGA Medalists, the national AIGA’s 100 Years of Design Centennial and the AIGA SF chapter. AIGA Fellow Karin Hibma Cronan curated and hosts.
Richard Danne : : "Metamorphosis"
Born on an Oklahoma farm during The Great Depression, Richard Danne has been awarded the prestigious 2014 AIGA Medal, the highest honor in design.
Danne (pronounced DAY–nee) was elected President of the American Institute of Graphic Arts when our national organization had fewer members than AIGA SF does today. He encouraged bringing “West Coasters” on the national board, and encouraged the growth of chapters. He was Founding President of AIGA NY, making sure that “national” did not only mean “New York”.
The recipient of many national and international awards, including three “US Presidential Awards for Design Excellence,” in 2006, after more than 35 years in New York City, Danne Design happily relocated their design practice, grand piano, and residence to Napa, California.
Celebrate the closing session of “Show and Tell” with all our Bay Area Medalists.
This video was recorded the evening of Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Center for Architecture and Design in San Francisco, California, USA. Richard Danne is an AIGA Centennial Medalist.
